Svetlana Popovic - Lana S
is a Belgrade-based contemporary abstract artist working in painting as a process of exploring fluid states of identity. Her work develops through organic, evolving forms that exist between structure and dissolution. Her practice is rooted in an intuitive approach, where material behavior and controlled composition interact, allowing forms to emerge rather than being imposed. Through this process, she builds a visual language that evokes archetypal patterns and inner landscapes, open to interpretation.

SELECTED PROJECTS – Many Voices (2026)
Silk Series – An authorial collection of 70 unique hand-painted silk pieces (35 large and 35 mini), created for an event marking International Women’s Day with women entrepreneurs from Kosovo and Metohija, organized by the Office for Kosovo and Metohija.
Each piece develops a unique variation of organic form and color, reflecting individual voices and the diverse paths of women entrepreneurs.
The artistic project “Many Voices,” consisting of 70 unique hand-painted works, presents the concept of a “Kinetic Voice.” It is conceived as a deconstructed installation in which each individual piece carries a fragment of a broader collective identity.

"Your artistic practice stood out during the curation process and we look forward to presenting it to our international audience of collectors, curators, and art lovers.

This work is a beautiful study of relief and monochromatic texture. It has an almost fossilized quality, as if an organic form—perhaps a bird or a dragonfly—were pressed into wet clay and left to dry over centuries. The way you have built the physical surface of the canvas with dense, sculpted paste creates striking highlights and shadows that shift depending on the light.

By using a very limited palette of greenish sea-foam tones, turquoise, and sandy-yellow hues, you have kept the focus entirely on the central, elevated form. The piece is highly tactile and feels as though it belongs in the collection of a natural history museum from another planet.”
